“ Facebook post 11/10/2018 “ NOT mine . WARNING TEXAS CITY RESIDENTS. Do not eat at Donald's Donuts on Palmer. I went to the drive through and ordered 2 dozen donut holes to bring home for the kids. The lady owner, who I watched through the window, was getting donut holes with the tongs. Dropped about 4 of them on the floor. Picked them up, and put them right in my kids bag. Came back to the window and told me how much I owed. I said "I just saw you drop those in the floor and then put them in the bag". She said "what do you mean". Me, " through the window, I JUST WATCHED THOSE DONUTS HOLE HIT THE FLOOR AND YOU PUT THEM INTO OUR BAG". Her eyes got real big and she, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, you can have new ones for free". I told her "I dont want those. I'm going to a clean place". I made the uturn to leave and looked back in the window as I was driving away only to see her DUMPING THE BAGS BACK ON THE TRAY to be served to someone else...I could not believe my eyes. DONT EAT HERE!!!

Local good eating. A gem in the city, and if you have a sweet tooth or two check this place out. There's other eats here that everyone should try. There's also a great drink selection.

I really hate to give them a single star considering the sweetest lady who took my order through the drive thru was so warm and inviting, I immediately felt welcomed. But I must say, since moving to South of Htown, Donald's donuts have quite the reputation of quality donuts that I would drive out of my way to work sometimes to get. Now I know they're all different but this is the first one with the same name that thoroughly left me disappointed. I don't understand Texas City being okay with the teensiest amount of bread around their kolache. If I'm willing to spend money on someone's food, I better get at least what other donut places offer and that is enough dough around the sausage that actually look like a kolache. Folks, these "kolaches" look like "pigs in a sheet" the dough is lacking and too thin. I ordered a few old fashion cake donuts for myself and a coworker (who loves that particular donut), we were so disappointed. They taste like they came from boxed cake mix. Just too sweet and premixed tasting.. It's just a big let down to me considering the lack of quality food for a price that's not worth it. Throw some more dough on them weenies and I'll be back.
